About the job

Prep, protection, cutting in and rolling, mostly in houses with people still living in them. Floors and furniture get covered before a lid comes off, patches get primed, and edges are cut in freehand rather than masked off with tape.

Exterior work runs through the warm months. Interior work runs right through the winter, which is when a lot of outfits around here go quiet.

What you would do

• Cover floors and furniture before any work starts
• Fill and sand holes and dents flat, prime the patches
• Cut in and roll walls, ceilings, trim, doors and closets
• Clean up at the end of every day
• Walk the finished room with the customer before we invoice

What you need

• 1+ year residential painting experience
• Legally entitled to work in Canada
• 18 or older
• Able to lift 50 lb and work from a ladder at two storeys and above
• Own transport to sites across HRM

How hiring works

We read every application and reply within 48 hours, including a no. You get the details in writing first: shift schedule, a typical day, targets and pay, before you come in rather than after you start. Then a 30-minute interview in person where we go through it together. If we both think it works, we sign and set your start date at that same meeting.
