Drywall Repair in Halifax and HRM

A bad patch is more obvious than the hole was. A repair is finished when you cannot find it.

You see a bad patch as a slight bulge under a lamp, or a dull square where the paint sits differently, and once you have noticed it you notice it every day.

What we repair

  • Cracks at corners, over doorways and along ceiling lines
  • Nail pops and screw pops
  • Holes from doorknobs, moved furniture, removed shelving and TV mounts
  • Water damage, once the leak itself has been dealt with
  • Openings left behind by plumbers, electricians and other trades
  • Damaged corners and beat-up outside edges
  • Ceilings, including cracked and sagging sections

How we work

We find out why

A crack that keeps coming back is telling you something. A ceiling stain means water got in from somewhere. Patching over a live problem hides it for a few months and then you are paying twice. If we think something behind the wall needs attention first, we will say so, even when that means the job is not ours yet.

We cut back to something solid

Loose and crumbling edges come out. A patch bonded to failing board fails with it.

We feather wide

The compound is carried well past the repair and built in coats, so the surface levels out gradually instead of stepping up at the edge. This is the whole difference between a repair and a visible patch, and it is why a small hole still takes more than one visit.

We prime and paint it back

Bare compound absorbs paint differently than the wall around it, so a patch painted without primer flashes as a dull spot. Primed, then painted to match.

What your quote includes

This is the scope Shepard-Martinez already puts on every drywall quote:

  • Materials and delivery: drywall, screws, tape, compound, corner bead as needed
  • Labour for install and finishing: hang, tape, mud, sand
  • Surface prep and protection: floor covering and plastic where required
  • Clean-up and debris removal, jobsite left tidy

Small jobs

Repairs are grouped so the dust and the disruption happen once. If you have a crack in the hallway, two nail pops in the bedroom and a doorknob hole behind a door, that is one visit, not three. We take on full-room and larger projects. For a single nail hole we are usually not the right fit, and we would rather tell you that now than waste your afternoon.

Winter work

Drywall repair runs all year. It is interior work and the weather does not touch it.
