How we work

We walk the house with you

Every side of it. The north wall and the sheltered side usually tell a different story than the front, and the quote has to reflect the worst of it rather than the best.

You get the quote in writing within one business day

One price for the work as we have scoped it, in writing, with no obligation attached to it.

We wash first

Paint does not stick to dirt, chalked-out old paint, or the green film that grows on a shaded wall here. Washing is the step that decides whether the job lasts.

We scrape and prime

Loose paint comes off until we reach an edge that holds. Bare wood gets primed. Skipping this is how a two-year-old paint job starts peeling in sheets.

Then the paint, worked to the weather

Exterior coatings need the right temperature and a dry surface to cure properly. If the forecast turns, we stop and come back. That can push a schedule, and we would rather tell you that up front than put a coat on a damp wall to keep a date.

What your quote includes

• Materials and consumables: paint, primer if needed, caulking, filler, rollers and brushes, tape, drop sheets
• Surface prep: light patching, sanding, cleaning, caulking, stain blocking where required
• Protection of your space: floors, furniture, trim and fixtures covered and masked
• Professional application: clean cut lines, consistent coverage, even finish
• Clean-up and disposal: space left tidy, materials removed

The paint is ours to supply and it is inside the quoted price. You are not making a second trip to the store.

When exterior work runs

Exterior painting is seasonal here, and it runs through the warmer, drier months. If you are calling in the winter about outside work, the right move is usually to get quoted now and booked early, because the good weeks in spring fill up fast. Interior work carries on year-round in the meantime.
